Why doesn’t superglue stick to its tube?
Strong adhesives such as superglue don’t stick to their tubes because of the absence of water in the tubes. The polymerisation reaction making the adhesive solidify is actually caused by water, which is why tubes are designed above all to not let in any humidity. That’s also why adhesives can also quickly stick to fingers or any other part of the human body, for skin is made up partly of water.
